Who me?

I'm Brennan Mark Smith, a busy screenwriter living in Burbank, CA.

Having previously acquired a Bachelors in Communications and a Masters in Teaching, I taught middle and high school English,  trained business professionals in Microsoft Office, and repaired computers for various clients in NYC,  before focusing on writing.

After completing my stage play, Wittenberg, the prequel to Shakespeare’s Hamlet, I co-wrote two scripts with fellow script consultant/director/filmmaker Peter Bishai, including the award-winning, comic adventure The Dueling Accountant, and an unproduced thriller, Rapid Eye Movement

In 2004, I created www.bren.us to celebrate excellence in film.   I had to justify all my movie watching, after all.

In 2006, I took my obsession with storytelling to the next level by attending Act One Program in Hollywood.  Then my sights were set on Tinseltown.  I moved to Burbank at the end of 2008 (my wife Melissa worked for Lehman Bros, if that clarifies things),  and began developing my reputation as a script analyst.  In 2009 I graduated from Act One Program’s advanced screenwriting course, Act Two.

When I'm not challenging the action and thriller genres with new stories or learning other aspects of the industry, like acting, , I try to give back.  I taught screenwriting at the Haven in NYC, and Damah Film Festival, developed a Theme-based class for the 168 Film Festival, and  I currently help scores of writers take their screenplays to the next level as a story analyst for Act One Program and Keys2scriptsuccess.com.
